Checkra1n tool updates jailbreak iOS 14 support for chip A9 (X) and below - iThuThuat

Just a week after Apple officially released iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 to users, tool release group checkra1n has launched version checkra1n 0.11.0 beta to support jailbreak for the latest, newly released Apple version.

Although checkra1n v0.11.0 beta supports jailbreak for iOS 14, but limited to certain devices running A9 (X) or lower chips. The checkra1n team is also planning to support more devices in the future thanks to the exploit of the checkm8 vulnerability, but it will take longer as Apple appears to have made it more difficult to deploy the checkm8 exploit on devices. by implementing new deterrents.

The checkm8 exploit cannot be patched by software because it is a hardware-based exploit. However, what Apple can do is add more sophisticated layers of security to their software like they did with iOS 14. This makes it difficult to run checkra1n on new devices running iOS 14. much more than before. This is why the checkra1n team needed more time to study.

There is no specific time to support devices running A9 (X) and above chips, but the checkra1n team expects it to be launched in "the coming weeks" for the A10 and A10 (X) devices. Unfortunately, they are still not sure whether to apply the same fixes to devices using the A11 chip like the iPhone X or iPhone 8.

At the time of writing this article, the following devices have supported jailbreak with checkra1n on iOS 14:

  • iPhone 6s, 6s Plus and SE
  • 5th generation iPad
  • iPad Air 2
  • iPad mini 4
  • iPad Pro generation 1
  • Apple TV 4 and 4K
  • iBridge T2

Here are the devices that will be supported in the coming weeks:

  • iPhone 7 and 7 Plus
  • iPad 6th and 7th generation
  • iPod touch 7
  • iPad Pro 2nd generation

And these are the devices that the checkra1n team is not sure about:

If you are using newer devices and have upgraded to iOS 14, you still have a chance to downgrade to iOS 13.7 before Apple stops signing it later this week. There is no jailbreak for iOS 13.7 yet, but if you follow your advice downgrade to a lower version then your chances of jailbreak will increase.

As always, you can download the latest chechkra1n version on the website https://checkra.in. Don't download it elsewhere for your own safety. If you do not know how to jailbreak with checkra1n, you can refer to this tutorial of mine:
