Top 20 best SEO optimization techniques you might not know about (2019)

Do you want to get more traffic from Google?

This will be the article for you!

Today, I will introduce to everyone SEO optimization techniques I use often.

These are all the techniques I've applied recently, and actually they have worked.

SEO-SEO

No more lengthy, here is a list of 21 SEO techniques included in this article:

[toc]

Let's get started.

1. Optimize SEO with Google RankBrain algorithm

Some time ago, Google announced the RankBrain algorithm.

This algorithm has changed a lot of things, forcing users to adapt (or get rid of)

Why is that?

Google RankBrain is the first machine learning algorithm and is also an AI of Google.

In simple terms, this AI measures how users interact with the results on page 1

As you can see, the more satisfied the user, the higher the website rank.

Things like backlinks, keywords and other traditional ranking factors still matter.

But RankBrain quickly took over and became more and more important.

In fact, Google has continued to assert RankBrain is one of the "top 3" ranking factors their:

top-3-love-to-comment

(2 other ranking factors are Backlink and Conent).

The question is posed:

How to optimize SEO with Google RankBrain?

I have two simple, easy to implement things that I want to tell you:

First, optimize CTR on GG search

Google RankBrain wants to see more people clicking on your site in search results.

This is a signal to Google that:

“People like this search result. Please put this link to the top of the page to make it easier to find. ”

But what if people don't click on the search results?

Google will downrank that result like a stone.

And that is why CTR optimization is so important.

I have an optimal SEO technique, which will help you improve CTR in the following.

But for now, here's the tip I've recently learned:

One of the easiest ways to get more clicks is to add numbers to the title and description.

Here is a real-world example from one of my blog posts:

add-title-title-description-description

An article excerpted by a prominent excerpt from Hawk World.

Research shows that online users are more likely to click on content that contains numbers.

Therefore, when you include these specific numbers in the content title.

Let's start optimizing SEO from title and description. Your CTR will improve immediately.

Next is to improve bounce rate and Dwell Time (dwell time).

Once again, Google RankBrain wants you to post an article that pleases users.

If the user leaves the website (this action is called "bounce") after 3 seconds.

That's a signal to Google that this is content they don't like.

There is a correlation between bounce rate and rank (the lower the rank).

And if users stay longer on the website (dwell time), the higher you rank.

Therefore:

How to improve Dwell time and Bounce rate?

There is a tip that I have recently used to write compelling introductions to encourage people to act.

In other words, we need to avoid content like this:

If someone access to this trailer, they will definitely be out soon.

(And this is not good for SEO at all)

Instead, we need to do the following:

Let them know exactly what they will get in the article.

I highly recommend dividing the content into smaller paragraphs.

As you can see, this article I put many lines down, creating a lot of space.

So the content is easy to read and follow.

Moreover, it is very easy to read on phones or tablets.

Most Google searches are done on mobile devices,

Readability Now becomes extremely important with SEO optimization.

Continue with the other techniques.

2. Update, upgrade and republish old articles

This is probably the SEO job that takes a lot of my time.

Why, simply this world is constantly changing.

Including knowledge and information. Simply work to 2019.

I had to update all the reivew posts, comparing 2018.

Also convenient for me to optimize the content, Title, CTR ... a lot of things

For example, this is an article after I updated the old content.

Before

After

And Pageviews has increased 53% (from 971 -> 1487)

If you are wondering, is this luck? Really not.

I used the technique "The Content Relaunch" and brought the results as above)

3. Copy from Google Adword to create impressive titles and descriptions

Title and Description play a very important role in determining CTR.

(And as I mentioned earlier, CTR increases = Google ranks higher).

The question is: How do you know what a user wants to click?

Easy: look at the Google Adwords ads for those keywords.

You know, the Adwords ads we see for competitive keywords, are the result of hundreds of different split tests.

Split tests are designed to maximize clicks (clicks).

And these will be great examples to follow.

For example: Here I will choose the keyword "Cheap phones”.

First, let's see what the ads on Google Adwords have.

After reviewing the results here, we will see some words that can be used with the keyword "cheap electricity"

  • Great battery
  • Genuine
  • Pin buffalo
  • Cheap champion
  • Free delivery
  • Smooth game play
  • Warranty 12 months
  • Beautiful photography

This will be an example after I combine the ideas above:

This title and description contains more attractive words and will attract more customers.

So when you put these terms in the meta tag, the title will get you more clicks.

4. Get the best keyword from the opponent

There are 2 ways to find keywords to optimize your content.

Enter random keywords into a tool.

Or

Find the keywords of competitors who are having the best rankings.

Both of these ways you can apply.

But following someone is always easier than tinkering, right?

Proceed as follows:

First, find a website that is most competitive with you on Google

As such, we are using reverse engineering.

To know what the opponent is doing.

For example, in this case I took a website that has quite a lot of similar content to me.

Next, put your competitor's website in one of the keyword checking tools like Ahref or SEMrush.

And you will get the list of keywords that they have ranked for.

Of course, many of these keywords will not make sense to you.

For example, there are some words that carry their brand or service.

Or maybe they are ranking for super competitive keywords and you have no chance.

Focus on the keywords that are relevant to you.

5. Optimize content to become "Viral"

Here's what we face: Most online content isn't worth sharing.

And when not shared, you will hardly have high rankings in Google.

Fortunately, making the content more attractive is not difficult.

Some tips that you can use like :.

Firstly, I use short URLs in most blog posts.

For example, the URL for the article you are reading is simply: https://dieuhau.com/keyword-research/

Why is that?

Short URLs tend to get more clicks. And more clicks = higher rankings (thanks to Google Rankbrain).

Monday, please place the share button in the most convenient place for users.

Fact: Google claims that Do not use society as a ranking factor:

This indicates that social sharing will only bring you more traffic.

And some people are easier to associate with you, this helps in ranking up.

Also make sure that On-Page SEO is really good.

Tuesday, make your website more beautiful,

As simple as creating your own thumbnails, or do Inphographic, for example?

For example, in this article, I have done Infographic about why WordPress is so popular.

6. Link to the Authority Site

We all know about the Hummingbirds and Penguins algorithms.

But forget about an important Google algorithm update called Hilltop.

Despite more than ten years, Hilltop still plays an important role to this day.

Hilltop is an On-Page SEO factor that tells Google whether a page is an "hub" for information.

So: How does Google know what is the central page?

Very simple: Hub is determined by the quality and relevance of outbound links of that page.

This makes perfect sense if you think about it ...

The pages you link tend to reflect the topic on your website.

And pages that link to useful resources also tend to outperform those that only link to their own content.

In other words, pages that link to good resources would be center in the eyes of Google.

In fact, a recent study found a correlation between outbound links and Google rankings.

Outbound links provide a better user experience.

Useful external links help users find content and help them learn more about the topics you cover in your posts.

Summary:

Links to at least 3 quality, relevant sources of every content you post.

This will show Google that your page is a central Hilltop.

External links are just one of many on-page factors that Google considers.

7. Insert links to the articles on page 2 or 3 in Google search.

If your page is on page 2 or 3 Google search results ...

You will see it as the title on page 100.

In SEO only on page 1 is valid, no one will come to page 2 to find you.

Even where quality content goes.

So how do you get these pages to the top of the search page?

Use this SEO technique: include some internal links in Authority Page.

Step 1: Use Google Search Console to find the keywords you rank on the 2nd or 3rd page.

To find these keywords, please log in Google Search Console » Performance

Click "Average position". You will see the average ranking for each keyword.

Then sort the results by Position:

Next, look for keywords with an average position of 11-30.

If you are getting clicked from a keyword on page 2 or 3.

Make sure the keyword has enough search volume that you are interested in.

For example, this page from Dieuhau is ranked # 12 for the keyword "cheap domain money".

Although on the second page, I still receive 10 clicks and 1,405 impressions per month for the keyword "cheap domain name".

It is worth our optimization SEO right?

Step 2: Identify Authority pages on your website.

You will easily find pages on your site using an SEO tool called Ahrefs.

Just enter your homepage URL into the tool and click "Search":

Then click "Best By Links" in the left sidebar:

These are the best pages on your website.

Step 3: Go to the recently found pages on Ahref and add internal links.

Finally, I have inserted the link to the page with the word "cheap domain name"

8. Optimize content with "Semantic SEO".

A few years ago, Google came up with an entirely new search algorithm named Hummingbird.

Before Hummingbird, Google only analyzed individual keywords on the website.

Meaning that each post only goes with a single keyword.

But thanks to this new algorithm, Google can understand the topic of this entire website.

The ability of search engines to understand the topic and rank the search results accordingly is called: "Semantic Search".

The question is: How do we optimize our content for Semantic SEO?

Please do the following:

First, optimize SEO around the focus keyword just like you normally would.

Then, include sub topics related to your target keywords.

This way, Google fully understands the topic of the page (not just the keywords).

For example, the article "How to create domain email addresses with G Suite and Gmail"

Because I mention subtopics (such as business email, how to set up domain email,), Google understands this content.

Because Google fully understands the topic of the content, the page has been ranked with over 2400 keywords (according to Ahref):

You will easily find related subtopics using a tool called LSIGraph.

This tool shows you sub-topics (and terms) related to the keywords you have entered.

It doesn't seem to support Vietnamese very well, (okie can use English as a suggestion)

When you use these subtopics in your content, they will be optimized for Semantic Search.

9. Adding this word to Email will increase the response rate to 45%.

When someone sees an email in their inbox, they often ask 2 questions:

"Who is this?" and "What do they want?"

The faster you respond, the higher your response rate.

But how do we do this?

It's easy: Use the word "Because of”In my email.

This word has a strong impact on human psychology.

Dr. Ellen Langer's research comes from Harvard University show that people tend to let others do first if they are waiting.

For example, when a person asks: Can I use a copier before you? ”, Only 61% of respondents answered“ yes ”.

But when they asked “Can I use the copier before you? because I'm in a hurry? ”, 89% of respondents answered“ ok ”.

(45% increase)

Why is there such a big difference?

Simple from "Because of”Makes a request seem more reasonable.

In reaching out to people, the logical messages will get a good response.

If you are or are planning an email marketing campaign, be sure to apply it.

10. Take advantage of Wikipedia to get topic ideas and keywords.

You want to find keywords that haven't been exploited by competitors?

Use Google Keyword Planner and use this SEO technique to find keywords.

For one thing, Keyword Planner is great for finding search volumes but it is extremely bad at coming up with keyword ideas.

Why is that?

Simply put, Keyword Planner only gives you variations close to your keyword.

So if you enter keywords like "sportswear," the tool will give keywords similar to the following:

If you want to find keywords related to the main keyword, do the following:

Access Wikipedia and enter keywords (I will use the keyword "sportswear" as an example):

Next, let the sections on Wikipedia's entry show related keywords and topics.

These sections are called ... "Contents" box (table of contents):

Captions and sidebars:

Internal links (Internal link):

And the "References" section:

Wikipedia reference

If you want to find more keyword ideas, click on the internal links.

Then just follow the same steps above and repeat the process.

11. Write a mini blog for YouTube description

If you pay a little attention, you will now see video results on YouTube, dominating the first page of Google.

And Google owns YouTube, it will become more and more popular in the future.

Here is the best part:

There is a simple technique that helps YouTube videos rank for competitive keywords in both YouTube and Google:

Write more than 200 words with sections to describe the video

Most people upload videos to YouTube, they will only write a few words in the description.

This is a big mistake. Remember that Google cannot watch or listen to your video content.

Instead, they rely on the title and description of the video to determine the video content.

And this text content will help you rank for your target keywords.

For example:

Hawks Channel

As you can see, this is a 200 word description with good quality.

And you can also insert the content related to it.

12. Insert "long keywords" into the Title

In recent times I have noticed a trick with the title.

Normally I only put 1 keyword in the title tag

I tried putting another long keyword in the title

As in the article “5 websites providing Free Domain + Free Hosting (Updated 2019)”

My keyword focus is "free domain name"

So make sure your title will have the word "free domain name"

But I tried ...

Add the word "Free Hosting" to it.

Quite surprisingly, I have the top 3 with the keyword "free hosting and domain"

And of course this keyword is less competitive than the word "free domain name"

That's why I got traffic earlier for this article, even though my keyword hasn't been on page 1 yet.

Competitive keywords will often take a long time to get up.

And during that time, you will not get any traffic at all.

So please insert and optimize more long keywords.

Tip: Please choose related keywords with a relatively good amount of search. It is best to be less competitive

Refer more ways: increase your webiste traffic - Simple but effective

13. Remember "First link first rule".

This is a mistake in SEO that I see many people make:

Suppose you have two links pointing to a page on the website ... And both of these links are on the same page.

So Google will pay attention to anchor text? The first one? The second one? Or both?

According to the first link priority rule, only the first link is counted.

Why is this rule important?

Suppose you have a menu bar on the web, like this:

hawks navigation menu

Because of your navigation menu at the top of the page, Google will see those links first.

This is where things get tricky:

Suppose you insert a link to the "SEO" page in an article on your blog.

Internal links in the article

And this link has anchor text: "SEO optimization".

Unfortunately, "SEO optimized" anchor text will be ignored by Google.

Google only calculates the anchor text that it sees first: "SEO".

Please check and remove this error.

Please continue to follow so don't miss it.
